Oriental Rug Detail Pictures |
approx. 120 knots/sq.in. Chechnya late 20th Century
Chechnya borders the Caucasus mountains just west of Daghestan.; a very famous region for wool and weaving carpets. Chechen designs share the bold characteristics of all those that are made in the Caucasus regions. The pile length is in-between the shorter piled Shirvan / Daghestan types and the thicker, robust Kazaks. This carpet was made using local, naturally dyed wool for the pile. The warp and weft are un-dyed brown/black wool mixed with animal hair.
Every Oriental rug, carpet or weaving presented here is guaranteed to satisfy the purchaser or a refund will be made upon return of the purchased item(s) to our location in Ashland, OR 97520. E-Mail: silkroad@mind.net |
